SPORTS
VOCATIONAL EMPOWERMENT | EDUCATION

SIkhya has a complete sports infrastructure including large playing fields, multi-purpose courts, 20 mt swimming pool and a daily games period

The games programme is compulsorty for all students and has accreditation from the Australian Sports Committee .

In less than a year, Sikhya students have already won many medals in boxing, carrom, kabaddi and volleyball in both National and State levels.

In addition, Sikhya has a dynamic curriculum that imparts real-life skills including writing, public speaking, art and music.

The aim is to engage children in a variety of activities because one never knows what may light a spark within.

Our achievements in national and regional championships.

BOXING

  • 2 nd Sub Junior Women's Boxing Championship (18 th - 19 th Nov'07)

GROUP E:

  • Won Gold Medals in 30, 32, 34, 36, 38 kg weight categories.
  • Won the Silver Medal in 34 kg weight category.

GROUP D:

  • Won Gold Medals in 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 34, 46 and 48 kg weight categories.            
  • Won Silver Medals in 48 & 50 kg weight category.

GROUP E:

  • Won Gold Medals in 44 & 46 kg weight categories.
  • Won the Silver Medal in 48 kg category
  • 2 nd Sub Junior Men's Boxing Championship (18 th - 19 th Nov'07)
  • Group E: won the Gold Medal in 40kg category.
  • Group C: won the Silver Medal in 48kg category.
  • Group D: won the Silver Medal in 48kg category.

CARROM 

  • 3 Gold Medals
  • 35 th Sub Junior National Championship (2 nd - 7 th July'07)    
  • 1 Gold, 2 Silver, 1 Bronze Medal
  • 17 th Chandigarh State Championships (28 th Jul - 31 st Jul'07)
  • 1Gold, 2 Bronze Medal
  • 10 th Raj Kumar Memorial Tournament (1 st - 3 rd Aug'07 )

KABADDI

  • 3 Silver Medals (for Both boys' and Girls
  • Chandigarh State Kabaddi Championships (12 th - 14th Nov'07)

TAEKWANDO

  • Sub Junior Taekwondo Championships (17 th & 18 th Nov '07)
  • 24,32, 53 kg won Bronze Medals

ART:

  • Consolation Prize from over 1000 entries
  • Indian Oil Inter School Painting Competition (24 th July'07)
  • 3 rd Prize from over 1500 entries
  • MC Zoological Park Inter School Competition (3 rd Oct'07)
  • 1 st Prize from 50 best entries (total participants were over 2500)
  • Bhakra Beas Management Board Inter School Competition (25 th Oct'07)
