Radhika is the oldest of four sisters and has grown up in a challenging household. She’s 16 years old but is still finishing up 9th grade. Radhika’s father left the family when she was young and her mother has lived in several places, working different minimum paying jobs to support the family. Radhika is a newer addition to the Sikhya community and joined in the summer of 2016. She says the support of the mentors and her friendship with the other Sikhya girls has given her added motivation to stay in school and excel. She loves to draw, paint and embroider. Although she’s still not sure what she wants to do in the long term, she is thrilled to have a roof over her head and a the opportunity to go to school.
